Why do Christians require evidence for evolution but not for God?

I require both.

Most Christians I know believe in evolution: the repeatable, observable, and falsifiable aspects. It’s the unrepeatable, unobservable, and unfalsifiable claims that have more to do with supporting atheism than scientific truth that we objection to. ¬†For example, how would one prove to an committed evolutionist than man and apes did not evolve from a common ancestor? It can’t be proven one way or the other – it’s an unfalsifiable claim and therefore, not a known scientific fact.
