A response to Pastor Danny Cortez of New Heart Community Church regarding his understanding of and obedience to what the Bible really says.
Faith (trust) is the distance between absolute and limited knowledge. Since we don’t have absolute knowledge about most things, faith is involved. People have at least some minimal amount of evidence for what they believe, except those who claim other’s beliefs have no evidence.
In Matthew 7, Jesus says not to judge but most people take him out of context and do not read his full thought. His focus was not to judge hypocritically. He even stated people should judge once they’re dealt with their own sin.
I never hear righteous people say, “don’t judge me.” People who are trying to do the right thing want their wrongs pointed out so they can stop them. The only people I hear saying the “don’t judge” line are the ones who want their sins ignored.
